About Immanuel Baptist Church

On November 17, 1996, a faithful group of 66 individuals began a series of prayer gatherings in their homes. On December 29th of that year, after carefully considering a name for their new church family, the group unanimously agreed on the name Immanuel Baptist Church. Their vision to worship God and to share His great news with the people of Galveston Island had become a reality. In February 1997, after experiencing continued growth, God led them to lease a former Galveston resturant (John's Oyster Resort) located at 7711 Broadway. Through the years God had blessed this "pink" church building and in 2004 a more permanent site was purchased. The location of this site was 10101 Stewart Road.

In December 2007 the congregation moved into its new home and as an opportunity to welcome our new neighbors to the church a Grand Opening Celebration was held the first weekend in March 2008.

Throughout, our ministry has been to share God's Love on Galveston Island and beyond. Come and join us for our services.
